Base Salary
$149k - $199k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build observability infrastructure for resource usage and system health.
- Develop metrics and analysis tools to identify performance contention.
- Improve root cause analysis across various system resources.
- Collaborate with teams to investigate system crashes and performance regressions.
- Analyze interactions on embedded Linux compute platforms.
- Translate investigations into improvements including tooling and performance requirements.
- Define performance benchmarks and regression tests.
- Evaluate performance impacts of new software and hardware.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to engineering teams.
- Contribute to technical roadmaps for system performance.
Requirements
- Strong experience debugging and optimizing Linux system performance.
- Deep understanding of operating system concepts.
- Experience diagnosing resource contention and latency issues.
- Familiarity with Linux performance and tracing tools.
- Proficiency in C or C++ programming languages.
- Experience with Python or shell scripting for automation.
- Ability to analyze large volumes of system telemetry.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex behaviors.
