Lead Engineer - Embedded SW Development
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Translate system requirements into embedded firmware architectures and low-level designs.
- Lead full-cycle design, coding, testing, debugging, integration, release, and maintenance of MarkVIe software.
- Optimize system efficiency, stability, scalability, and resource utilization for power-generation control systems.
- Develop and oversee formal design verification and validation plans with firmware test teams.
- Lead design, source-code, unit-test, and requirements reviews.
- Collaborate with hardware design, systems engineering, product, and global cross-functional teams.
- Champion automated unit and regression testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party and open-source software while maintaining cybersecurity compliance.
- Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, mentorship, and troubleshooting support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- 6–9 years of professional experience in embedded software programming and hands-on troubleshooting on embedded targets.
- Advanced C and C++ programming skills and an in-depth understanding of microprocessor architectures.
- Hands-on experience with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems, preferably QNX.
- Experience with automated unit testing for C/C++ and software configuration management, defect tracking, and peer-review tools.
- Ability to work effectively in global, multifunctional teams and communicate well across disciplines.
- Preferred experience with MarkVIe firmware, industrial communication protocols, secure software design, industrial control-system cybersecurity, global program leadership, mentoring, and C# development for tools or utilities.
