Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and scaling of backend systems and integration pipelines connecting POS, ERP, OMS, CRM, and replenishment platforms.
- Build cloud-native, event-driven architectures using message brokers and REST/GraphQL APIs for real-time and batch synchronization.
- Architect secure, highly available omnichannel services with robust authentication and data integrity across online and offline operations.
- Drive observability, operational excellence, root-cause investigation, system hardening, and performance improvements.
- Establish engineering and quality standards, including contract testing, load testing, and reliable release practices.
- Own retail operations technology architecture and deliver capabilities such as clienteling, digital queuing, and connected in-store experiences.
- Balance global standardization with local market and physical store format variations.
- Partner with architecture, product, QA, and retail operations leaders on strategy, vendor evaluation, and roadmap decisions.
- Mentor software engineers and guide technical decision-making across engineering teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing, building, and operating production Point of Sale systems in a retail environment.
- Hands-on experience with financial system integrations, ERP systems, replenishment, inventory management, or OMS platforms.
- Strong knowledge of retail operations, physical store layouts, multi-format rollouts, and international retail environments.
- Extensive backend engineering experience with Node.js, TypeScript, or equivalent execution environments.
- Expertise in event-driven architecture, asynchronous message brokers, cloud-native microservices, relational databases, API design, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Experience with Kafka or comparable message brokers and AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms.
- Experience leading solution design and end-to-end delivery for complex, large-scale platforms.
- Ability to balance commercial innovation with reliability, security, and operational stability.
