Base Salary
$102k - $219k/yr
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual in a 24/7 on-call rotation approximately one week every 6–8 weeks, responding to service degradation, downtime, and interruptions within SLA timeframes.
- Escalate incidents, write and review postmortems, and share operational insights with the team.
- Collect, classify, and analyze system and product metrics to identify bugs and inform product engineering decisions.
- Develop production and deployment automation and validate functionality in simulated or non-production environments.
- Improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, performance, monitoring, and operations at scale.
- Build reliable software using established development and scaling practices and collaborate with Microsoft engineering partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information based on an SSBI with Polygraph.
- Must satisfy required Microsoft, customer, and government security screenings, including the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Must verify U.S. citizenship because of citizenship-based legal restrictions associated with government customers.
- Preferred: experience with large-scale distributed services and on-call responsibilities.
- Preferred: 4+ years of experience with PowerShell, C#, or C++.
- Preferred: understanding and experience with CI/CD concepts, including Azure DevOps and GitHub.
- Preferred: end-to-end project lifecycle ownership, project management, communication, collaboration, and ability to work in an ambiguous, changing environment.
- Preferred: experience collaborating with Software Engineers, Program Managers, Security Researchers, and Data Scientists.
