Responsibilities
- Lead deployment, upgrades, configuration, and lifecycle management of a containerized workspace streaming platform on Kubernetes, including Helm charts, namespaces, zones, APIs, managers, and connection proxies.
- Build and maintain custom Docker images for desktops, browsers, and single-application workspaces, including software, startup scripts, branding, and launch forms.
- Build and maintain VM images and autoscaling agent pools on KubeVirt, Harvester, or cloud hypervisors for containerized, RDP-based, and GPU-accelerated sessions.
- Operate Kubernetes clusters, Linux servers, and AWS, Azure, and GCP resources, including capacity planning, node management, storage, and patching.
- Own TLS certificates, cert-manager integration, ingress controllers, load balancers, DNS, firewall rules, and secure platform routing.
- Build CI/CD automation for image builds, vulnerability scanning, registry publishing, Helm deployments, and configuration rollouts.
- Monitor platform health, investigate incidents, tune performance and autoscaling, and perform root-cause analysis for deployment, session, and connectivity issues.
- Integrate the platform with SAML and OIDC identity providers, session recording, logging, SIEM pipelines, and compliance controls.
- Document runbooks, deployment standards, and image-building procedures and mentor engineers and support staff.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, or application support roles supporting production workloads.
- Strong production Kubernetes experience, including deployments, services, ingress, Helm, RBAC, pod troubleshooting, and networking; Rancher, RKE2, EKS, AKS, or GKE experience is a plus.
- Deep Docker expertise, including multi-stage Dockerfiles, image optimization, private registries, and container runtime troubleshooting.
- Linux systems administration experience, preferably with Ubuntu or Debian, plus Bash and Python or Go automation experience.
- Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP, including compute, networking, storage, IAM, and managed Kubernetes services.
- Strong networking fundamentals covering TLS, PKI, DNS, HTTP and HTTPS proxies, reverse proxies, load balancers, tcpdump, curl, dig, and kubectl exec.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar tools.
- Experience operating and patching production Linux VMs and servers and creating reproducible VM images with Packer, cloud-init, or equivalent.
- Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Terraform or Ansible, KubeVirt or Harvester experience, GPU-enabled container workloads, session streaming or VDI platforms, SAML or OIDC integration, or regulated environments such as FedRAMP, HIPAA, or PCI is a bonus.
