Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and architecture of custom software solutions.
- Assess business initiatives and change requests, providing solution options, assumptions, risks, and rough-order-of-magnitude estimates.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, architects, designers, and engineering teams to gather requirements and align solutions with business objectives.
- Define end-to-end architectures and functional and non-functional requirements that address scalability, security, performance, availability, maintainability, resilience, reusability, and cost effectiveness.
- Establish architecture guardrails, design standards, enterprise architecture alignment, and implementation approaches.
- Support prioritization, planning, delivery, development, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
- Facilitate solution reviews and support root cause analysis for complex business and technology issues.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, optimization, automation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- At least 7.5 years of professional experience.
- 15 years of full-time education.
- Experience designing enterprise-scale business and technology solutions.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, AWS cloud-native architecture including serverless patterns, and event-driven architecture.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, integration patterns, APIs, cloud technologies, and modern architecture principles.
- Experience defining non-functional requirements covering security, scalability, performance, availability, and maintainability.
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical, scalable solution designs and communicate architectural concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience producing architectural artifacts using C4 Model, UML, or similar modeling approaches.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, stakeholder-influence, and cross-functional alignment skills.
- Experience working within Agile, Lean, Scrum, Kanban, or similar delivery methodologies.
- Preferred experience in large-scale enterprise environments, enterprise architecture governance, digital transformation, modernization, platform initiatives, customer-centric product development, service design, automation, AI-enabled solutions, and modern software engineering practices.
