Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated Appium test scripts for Android and iOS applications.
  • Build and enhance mobile test automation frameworks using Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Execute manual and automated tests across mobile platforms, devices, browsers, screen sizes, and operating system versions.
  • Perform API testing for mobile application backend services using tools such as Postman, Playwright, or custom frameworks.
  • Identify, analyze, and report defects and collaborate with developers and QA team members to resolve issues.
  • Translate requirements and development stories into test scripts and integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline.

Requirements

  • Require 5 to 8 years of IT experience focused on QA software testing, with strong hands-on mobile automation experience.
  • Require at least 3 years of Appium testing experience across iOS and Android devices.
  • Require the last 4 to 5 years of web and mobile testing experience using Selenium WebDriver and Appium.
  • Require experience testing hybrid and native mobile applications and setting up automation frameworks.
  • Require strong understanding of Appium concepts, including desired capabilities, locators, gestures, waits, and driver lifecycle.
  • Require API testing experience with REST APIs and tools such as Postman, Playwright, or custom frameworks.
  • Require proficiency with GitHub Actions or similar tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
  • Require familiarity with test management tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps.
  • Preferred qualifications include banking domain experience and experience implementing mobile or web test frameworks from scratch.

Benefits

  • Base salary ranges from CAD 65,000 to CAD 90,000 per year, with eligibility for a discretionary annual performance-based bonus.

  • Hybrid position requiring four days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto.
  • Working arrangements may change based on project and business or client requirements.
