Base Salary
$181k - $226k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop open-source client code and backend services with an emphasis on networking features and optimizations.
- Design, build, test, and document core networking software components.
- Own work across the product lifecycle, including product ideation and strategic decision-making.
- Build observability into running services, participate in incident response, and handle customer support escalations.
- Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of networking systems and resources.
- Design and implement robust, secure networking components.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product managers, and engineering teams to shape networking capabilities.
Requirements
- Proven experience implementing application-layer networking concepts and distributed components such as proxies, connectors, and overlay routing.
- Deep knowledge of operating-system networking internals, including socket programming, routing tables, and packet filtering primitives.
- Professional experience with Go.
- Experience designing and maintaining distributed systems, including concurrency, multithreading, race conditions, memory management, synchronization primitives, and scalability.
- Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL and efficient SQL queries.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively, work independently, and give and process constructive feedback.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
