Responsibilities
- Manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
- Manage and scale a Ruby on Rails stack.
- Implement monitoring tools to improve observability.
- Review feature code for performance requirements and identify potential performance issues before production.
- Debug production issues across the technology stack.
- Plan, optimize, and automate Fleetio’s infrastructure for growth.
- Partner with feature engineering teams to build, deploy, and operate features safely and efficiently.
- Respond to reliability and security incidents from triage and mitigation through post-incident follow-up.
Requirements
- 5+ years of AWS experience.
- 3+ years of Kubernetes experience.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform.
- Deep understanding of cloud networking fundamentals such as routing, firewalls, load balancers, CDNs, and VPCs.
- Experience with Ruby on Rails or an equivalent web application framework.
- Expertise in profiling and benchmarking source code.
- Experience conducting effective code reviews and identifying performance problems.
- Experience with Datadog or other APM tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with distributed event and data stores such as Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch, Memcached, and TimescaleDB is a plus.
- Knowledge of the fleet management industry and experience using AI tools to automate repetitive work are additional pluses.
