Responsibilities

  • Guide and mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, technical direction, and hands-on guidance.
  • Lead the architecture, discovery, design, and delivery of complex scalable software systems and distributed services.
  • Develop and enhance backend infrastructure while addressing performance, security, scalability, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Drive adoption of coding standards, design patterns, development practices, and technical standards across the organization.
  • Collaborate with product, UX/UI, Quality Assurance, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams to define scopes, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Produce technical documentation and presentations communicating architectural decisions and design options.
  • Provide technical debugging and production support and promote continuous learning, innovation, and engineering excellence.
  • Research emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies and align technical solutions with business goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area plus five years of software engineering experience, or seven years of software engineering experience.
  • Ideally 15 or more years of software development experience focused on large-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong experience with Java, React Native, Node.js, microservices, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of software design, distributed-system design, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Proficiency with Kafka and NoSQL databases, plus experience with DevOps practices, Git, and Maven.
  • Experience designing, developing, and delivering software products for large user bases and building global platforms and data-backed services.
  • Experience in an architect or technical leadership role and strong debugging and production support skills.
  • Familiarity with public cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of risk analysis, requirements classification, business objectives, user stories, functional and non-functional requirements, coding standards, telemetry, secure software development, and PCI standards.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree plus three years of software engineering experience.
  • Preferred knowledge includes WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
