Responsibilities
- Design and program software modules, components, features, and feature areas.
- Capture system-level requirements and define scope, estimates, and technical approaches.
- Participate in technical discussions, architecture, design reviews, whiteboarding, and cross-team collaboration.
- Guide a team of two to three developers in planning, execution, and/or design architecture.
- Work with Product Line Leaders and product stakeholders to understand requirements and vision.
- Make informed technology choices based on due diligence and impact assessment.
- Deliver software to meet product release goals in a fast-paced development environment.
- Maintain code quality through best practices, unit testing, code quality automation, refactoring, debugging, and feedback.
- Contribute to build, release, and deployment processes and address performance, scalability, reliability, and availability requirements.
Requirements
- Graduate of Computer Science or a STEM major.
- 7+ years of hands-on backend/frontend development in web or cloud applications.
- Experience implementing applications on Azure or AWS using microservices architecture and Docker/containerization.
- Proficiency in backend development with TypeScript and Node.js.
- Proficiency with MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
- Experience with session management, caching, algorithms and data structures, and secure coding.
- Proficiency with TypeScript, jQuery, web servers, and RESTful web services.
- Hands-on experience with AMQP or MQTT and message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Ability to learn and develop in languages, technologies, and tools as project needs require.
- Deep understanding of application and infrastructure architecture and non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, influencing, and articulation skills.
- Understanding and hands-on experience with object-oriented programming, design principles and patterns, architecture, test-driven development, unit testing, debugging, automation, and maintainable reusable code.
- Ability to break down problems and estimate development tasks.
