Responsibilities
- Embed with provider and payer teams to redesign clinical, administrative, and operational workflows around AI.
- Scope AI programs by defining problems, intended outcomes, success criteria, and automation or augmentation opportunities.
- Lead technical architecture for AI programs and communicate designs through written documentation and diagrams.
- Design safe, compliant, clinically sound solutions with human oversight, transparency, and PHI safeguards.
- Build and deploy agentic AI solutions using orchestration, context engineering, RAG, and production workflows.
- Shape healthcare interoperability across electronic medical records, payer platforms, clearinghouses, and broader data exchange ecosystems.
- Translate engagement learnings into repeatable methods and accelerators.
- Own end-to-end production delivery, including infrastructure, deployment, monitoring, and debugging in client-embedded environments.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on engineering experience with cloud-native systems, APIs, microservices, containerization, serverless systems, and AI platforms.
- At least 1 year designing and deploying agentic solutions in production, including agents, orchestration, context engineering, RAG, and workflows.
- At least 1 year delivering AI or technology programs inside payer organizations.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience using Claude or an equivalent frontier AI tool.
- At least 3 years of hands-on coding experience in a general-purpose language such as Python or Java.
- At least 3 years of production deployment experience involving CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Terraform or Helm, monitoring, and debugging.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or the stated equivalent work-experience alternatives.
- Experience with administrative and claims platforms such as QNXT, Facets, HealthEdge, or comparable systems.
- Fluency with SQL, relational modeling, data quality, and data lineage, plus knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
- Working knowledge of X12 transaction flows, FHIR APIs, healthcare interoperability, and exchange mechanisms.
- Deep understanding of payer workflows, including eligibility, enrollment, claims adjudication, prior authorization, utilization management, provider networks, reimbursement, appeals, grievances, risk, and quality programs.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, CMS requirements, API design and integration, authentication, pagination, rate limits, retries, versioning, webhooks, batch feeds, OAuth, JWT, encryption, access controls, and audit logging.
- Experience building with large language models through prompting, grounding, structured outputs, tool use, evaluation, and human oversight.
- Ability to work forward-deployed in ambiguous, high-stakes, slow-moving healthcare IT environments with strong written and presentation skills.
