Responsibilities
- Shape the technical strategy and prioritize work streams for securing AI agents.
- Build runtime policy decision points that evaluate agent requests against per-agent, per-tool, and per-resource rules.
- Design policy authoring, schema validation, and evaluation integrations connecting no-code administration tools with API-published policies.
- Validate delegated-agent representation rights and securely forward acting-user identity to downstream resources.
- Track and influence MCP, OAuth token exchange, and agent identity specifications and their reference implementations.
- Build comprehensive audit logging that records authorization outcomes and the rules or reasons behind decisions.
- Advance AI-native software development practices and help the team adopt effective AI tooling.
- Drive improvements in technical debt, CI/CD, observability, documentation, reliability, and support processes.
- Partner with Product and Design on customer outcomes and mentor engineers to raise the team’s technical bar.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proven experience defining scalable backend architectures and integrating complex APIs with modern web technologies.
- Deep expertise building reliable, secure, enterprise-grade software in Java or another type-safe language.
- Strong understanding of web authentication, authorization flows, and practices for protecting sensitive user data.
- Ability to make and defend architectural decisions with lasting organization-wide impact.
- Ability to apply AI meaningfully across the software development lifecycle, evaluate AI tooling, and establish team practices.
- Prior experience leading engineers through a meaningful shift in AI adoption, developer tooling, or engineering culture is a strong plus.
- Experience with identity, authorization, or IAM protocols such as OAuth, OIDC, or SAML is extra credit.
- Experience with agent frameworks, AI-facing APIs, or LLM developer toolchains is extra credit.

- Annual base salary range of $160,000–$220,000 CAD for candidates located in Canada.
