Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of complex full-stack solutions across frontend, backend, API, and platform integration layers.
- Provide architectural direction and make technical decisions across services, repositories, and shared components.
- Translate business and product requirements into technical designs, execution plans, milestones, and implementation breakdowns.
- Build and guide modern web experiences using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, REST and GraphQL APIs, cloud services, and deployment pipelines.
- Own critical deliverables through design, implementation, validation, production release, and post-production monitoring.
- Drive scalability, performance, reliability, accessibility, localization, security, maintainability, and web performance improvements.
- Define testing, validation, quality-gate, monitoring, observability, and production-readiness practices.
- Improve developer productivity through reusable frameworks, shared libraries, tooling, documentation, and streamlined operational workflows.
- Resolve complex production issues, integration challenges, technical debt, and cross-system dependencies.
- Coordinate with Product, XD, Program, Content, Marketing, DevOps, Security, Data/Analytics, and partner engineering teams.
- Communicate technical trade-offs, risks, mitigation plans, and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
- Mentor senior and mid-level developers through design reviews, code reviews, technical discussions, and delivery execution.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong hands-on full-stack web application development expertise.
- Deep experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, or similar frontend frameworks.
- Strong backend development experience with Node.js, Java, Python, or similar technologies.
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives involving multiple developers, teams, services, or repositories.
- Strong understanding of web performance, accessibility, security, scalability, reliability, and observability.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, production deployments, and release validation.
- Strong system design skills and the ability to make sound architectural trade-offs.
- Ability to influence technical direction without direct authority and communicate complex technical topics clearly.
- Preferred experience includes AWS, Azure, or GCP; large-scale web, commerce, marketing technology, or customer-facing platforms; content management, experimentation, personalization, analytics instrumentation, or checkout flows.
- Preferred experience includes micro-frontends, monorepos, shared component libraries, design systems, platform engineering, developer productivity, and CI/CD automation.
- Preferred experience includes Dynatrace, Catchpoint, Splunk, Datadog, CloudWatch, E2E automation, performance testing, monitoring, production readiness, or AI-assisted engineering tooling.
Benefits
- For Canada-based roles, the stated starting base salary is $107,000–$157,300 CAD annually, with possible bonuses, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
