Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex batch and online mainframe applications using COBOL.
- Implement application-level architecture and participate in architecture design teams.
- Analyze code and logs for defect and incident triage and root cause analysis.
- Implement production changes and provide solutions supporting critical business functions.
- Complete and review code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, test plans, and QA readiness activities.
- Develop documentation and full project life-cycle plans for complex, multi-platform projects.
- Plan and coordinate schedules and assignments across multiple complex projects.
- Advise on project risk assessment, risk management, technical strategy, and technology initiatives.
- Act as a liaison with business units to resolve project and technology issues.
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical and functional analysis across divisional initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field, or a foreign education equivalent, plus five years of relevant experience.
- Alternatively, a master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field, or a foreign education equivalent, plus three years of relevant experience.
- Five years of experience must involve designing, developing, and testing robust batch and online applications in a financial-services environment; the alternative master’s pathway requires three years.
- Demonstrated expertise with COBOL, JCL, IBM DB2 or VSAM, DFSORT, IDCAMS, and IEFBR14.
- Demonstrated expertise developing DB2 databases and VSAM files with CICS Transaction Gateway and COBOL-CICS programming modules.
- Demonstrated expertise with ENDEVOR, DFSORT, DB2 Stored Procedures, FILE-AID for DB2, and MVS.
- Experience using Control-M, TSO, ISPF, and SQL for enterprise batch processing, scheduling, access, dataset management, job management, and querying.
