
Data Platform Engineer
AstronomerResponsibilities
- Design and implement proof-of-concept data workflow solutions from concept through production.
- Conduct product demos and provide technical guidance to customer engineering teams.
- Contribute technical content and best practices to the Apache Airflow community.
- Gather customer insights and provide feedback to the Product team.
- Build expertise in Apache Airflow, workflow orchestration, and data engineering while collaborating across departments.
Requirements
- Have 2+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Consulting, or a similar data-focused role.
- Understand core data engineering concepts including orchestration, ELT, Git, and Role-Based Access Control.
- Have hands-on experience or working knowledge of Apache Airflow in a customer environment.
- Ideally have experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Fivetran, or Tableau.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts.
- Bring customer empathy, curiosity, patience, and a willingness to learn and experiment.
- Bonus qualifications include Python scripting, open-source data tools, production data workflow design, customer-facing technical or consultative experience, and Command Line Interface experience.
