
Technical Lead - IVI Middleware (Automotive)

Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze system and customer requirements.
- Provide high-level estimates and task breakdowns.
- Design and develop embedded middleware software in C++.
- Perform design reviews, code reviews, and software implementations.
- Develop and support IVI hardware and middleware projects for displays and gauges.
- Analyze system performance and identify bottlenecks.
- Lead technical improvement efforts and retrospectives.
- Lead and technically guide a team of engineers while supporting team morale and engagement.
- Create technical road maps, proposals, and technical solutions for the middleware team.
- Present technical material, including deep-dive presentations, to high-level executives.
- Work across multiple products in a fast-changing market.
- Travel internationally for short-term assignments as needed.
Requirements
- B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or an MS in a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive C++ development experience, including templates, design patterns, SOLID principles, and C++11/14.
- 5+ years of experience designing automotive middleware applications.
- 5+ years of software development experience for IVI hardware and middleware projects.
- 5+ years of software development experience for automotive Bluetooth middleware projects.
- 5+ years of experience leading an engineering team in developing technical solutions.
- Experience using desktop Linux and open-source tools for debugging and module development.
- Experience implementing Linux applications and daemons within embedded systems.
- Experience with BlueZ, OFono, OBEX, PulseAudio, and related open-source audio and media technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth Low Energy, Bluetooth profiles, and audio/DSP technologies.
- Experience with A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, MAP, and PBAP profiles.
- Experience with Agile software development in automotive environments.
- Preferred experience with GTest, Robot Framework, and the Yocto build system.
- Preferred Tier-1 or Tier-2 automotive industry experience.
- Preferred experience with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, other projection technologies, or Android OS for automotive applications.
- Preferred knowledge of CAN, navigation, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM, and other IVI features.
- Preferred strong knowledge of Linux kernel development.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, including the ability to present to high-level executives.
- Ability to learn and apply new skills with minimal supervision and guide a team technically.
