
Senior Software Engineer, AI-Accelerated Digital Commerce

Responsibilities
- Build and enhance customer-facing digital commerce experiences across qualification, catalog, cart, checkout, billing, payments, subscriptions, orders, and customer account journeys.
- Use AI-assisted workflows to accelerate implementation, code review, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Evaluate AI-generated output for correctness, security, maintainability, and production readiness.
- Develop and support modern web applications and services using React, Next.js, Node.js, Java, and related frameworks.
- Design and evolve APIs and service architectures for performance, reliability, maintainability, and cost.
- Partner with product, design, architecture, operations, and other cross-functional teams to deliver scalable technical solutions.
- Improve engineering excellence through testing, automation, observability, and high-quality code reviews.
- Share reusable AI-assisted engineering workflows and practices with the broader team.
Requirements
- At least 5–7 years of experience coding, debugging, and conducting code reviews with object-oriented languages such as Java and Node.js.
- Practical experience using AI for coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and understanding existing codebases.
- Ability to use AI with structured engineering practices including specifications, reviews, tests, and observability.
- 5–7 years of API and system design experience, including microservices.
- Hands-on experience with React, Next.js, Node.js, Java, and modern web application architecture.
- Strong engineering discipline in test automation, operational automation, and DevOps practices.
- Ability to balance speed, reliability, maintainability, and cost.
- Preferred qualifications include digital commerce or customer-facing platform experience; experience with commerce flows such as checkout, payments, subscriptions, orders, catalog, cart, or accounts; exposure to Shopify or similar ecosystems; and familiarity with MCP, LangChain, RAG patterns, vector databases, AI agents, or evaluation frameworks.
- Experience helping teams adopt practical AI development workflows is preferred.
