Base Salary
$141k - $173k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable backend software and agentic solutions using Java, Kafka, Elasticsearch, and cloud-native platforms.
- Develop and optimize RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Contribute to architecture and design decisions for highly available, secure, and scalable systems.
- Write clean, efficient, well-tested, and maintainable code.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Ensure operational excellence and a strong customer experience for owned products and systems.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and improve engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-scale applications.
- Strong experience building cloud-based applications and infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Proficiency with event streaming platforms such as Kafka.
- Experience with Elasticsearch, including indexing strategies, query optimization, and data analysis.
- Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, scalability, availability, and reliability.
- Strong problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, 8+ years of software engineering experience, and experience building agentic or AI solutions.
- Preferred experience includes event-driven architectures, card payments or financial services platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, API security, PCI DSS compliance, legacy-system improvement, Java or C# backend development, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, OData services, SQL-based solutions, and internet-scale services.

- Base pay range is $140,600.00 to $173,100.00 annually.
