Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a reliable, resilient, globally connected multi-cloud network for MongoDB services.
  • Build and operate infrastructure for secure communication between systems and from the public internet.
  • Collaborate with service-owning teams to provide internal support and guidance on service-to-service connectivity.
  • Implement networking, service mesh, load-balancing, and automation solutions in a multi-cloud environment.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to resolve network architecture and connectivity issues with minimal disruption.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience working on software and operating distributed systems.
  • Deep expertise in networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, IPv6, DNS, TLS/mTLS, BGP, tunnels, overlays, and SDN principles.
  • Strong understanding of modern cloud infrastructure and network design primitives in at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Knowledge of VPCs, subnetting, routing, VPNs, peering, private link or private service connect, and CDNs.
  • Strong knowledge of service mesh and load-balancing concepts.
  • Customer-focused mindset and preference for automation over manual operational work.
