Base Salary
$130k - $160k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services for a cold-chain risk-management and logistics orchestration platform.
- Own distributed systems that ingest, process, and contextualize IoT sensor and carrier data at scale.
- Build predictive OTIF systems and automate exception-handling workflows.
- Integrate partner-facing data sources including webhooks, queues, and carrier, sensor, and vendor APIs.
- Contribute to architecture decisions and cross-functional product and engineering direction.
- Build reliable, scalable services for a regulated logistics domain.
Requirements
- 5–15 years of backend engineering experience building scalable, data-intensive distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Rust, with hands-on Python and/or Java strongly preferred.
- Experience ingesting, processing, and normalizing IoT data across multiple vendors.
- Strong SQL and relational data-modeling skills; NoSQL and ETL pipeline experience are a plus.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience deploying and operating services on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong REST and/or gRPC API design and development skills.
- Experience with testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
- Logistics, cold-chain, supply-chain, IoT, or telematics domain knowledge is a plus.
- Familiarity with data security, privacy, and regulatory considerations in pharma or temperature-controlled logistics is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and ship end-to-end in a growth-stage startup.
