Responsibilities
- Lead API design and development based on business requirements, high-level designs, patterns, and best practices.
- Develop complex system and business logic for CIBC’s digital channels.
- Support enterprise-scale microservices, integrations, and cloud transformation initiatives.
- Provide next-level operational support, troubleshooting, problem solving, and performance tuning.
- Drive continuous improvement in development processes, quality, productivity, and technical practices.
- Coach junior developers and provide technical guidance to the team.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, SOAP, JSON, and RESTful web services.
- Proven enterprise experience developing microservices and APIs, typically requiring 8–10 years to build.
- Strong programming, system design, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning skills.
- Experience with modern development concepts and practices.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Azure, or OCP is an asset.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and cloud environments is an asset.
- Ability to mentor junior developers and collaborate effectively with technical teams.
