Responsibilities
- Own complex features and services across architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, rollback planning, and documentation.
- Design and implement high-performance, scalable, and secure Java capabilities using design patterns and API standards.
- Troubleshoot multi-tiered systems using core, heap, and thread-dump analysis and design resilient solutions.
- Lead code, design, and process discussions; review teammates’ code, tests, and automation.
- Support coordinated multi-region releases, including scope tracking, cross-team sign-offs, and release execution.
- Participate in on-call support, incident management, root-cause analysis, remediation, and performance and stability improvements.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Product and Business stakeholders, and cross-geography engineering teams.
- Mentor less-experienced engineers and deliver knowledge-transfer and brown-bag sessions.
- Identify inefficiencies and automate build, operate, and run activities while evaluating emerging technologies and frameworks.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency with modern Java and JDK 17 or later, including distributed systems and multithreading experience.
- Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JSON, application servers such as JBoss or Tomcat, and shell scripting.
- Experience with distributed caching or in-memory data grids such as Apache Geode, Hazelcast, Redis, or Coherence is highly desirable.
- Solid experience with Linux, SQL, message-queuing systems, and design patterns.
- Expertise with JUnit or equivalent automated testing frameworks and test plans covering unit, regression, performance, and integration testing.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Maven and source control in distributed development environments.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools for alerting, dashboards, and performance analysis.
- Understanding of secure development practices and PCI-DSS considerations for payment card data.
- Strong written and verbal communication, cross-team collaboration, initiative, ownership, and English fluency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
