Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and implementation of scalable, resilient full-stack systems using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Kafka, and Azure AKS.
  • Establish AI-first engineering practices for assisted development, code reviews, test generation, secure-by-default patterns, and documentation.
  • Design high-availability and high-throughput systems using multi-zone deployments, stateless services, horizontal scaling, distributed caching, and failover strategies.
  • Integrate NIST 800-53 security controls, automated checks, secrets and key management, and continuous compliance into the software lifecycle.
  • Lead reliability engineering, observability, performance SLOs, capacity planning, chaos and resilience testing, and incident-response improvements.
  • Mentor engineers, lead technical design forums and architecture reviews, and influence platform modernization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with product leaders and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions and manage technical risk.
  • Promote test-driven development, clean architecture, code quality, and modern CI/CD practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10–14 years of software development experience.
  • Expert-level mastery of Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, Angular, and Kafka-based event-driven systems.
  • Significant experience designing and operating services on Azure AKS, including cloud-native patterns, networking, and security.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting highly available, fault-tolerant, high-throughput production systems.
  • Strong knowledge of NIST 800-53 controls and secure software delivery, including pipeline controls and runtime guardrails.
  • Leadership experience in reliability engineering, performance tuning, and observability at scale.
  • Strong communication, influencing, mentorship, and team-alignment skills.
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is preferred.
