Base Salary
$204k - $259k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a data processing platform that extracts signals from petabytes of driving logs and simulation traces.
- Design and build low-latency streaming data processing infrastructure for real-time identification of critical driving events.
- Improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of signal-generation infrastructure while establishing SLOs and reducing operational toil.
- Collaborate with Perception, Planner, and Data Science teams to migrate legacy pipelines to modern infrastructure and support new analytical use cases.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in backend engineering, databases, and production monitoring, with a stated 3+ year path for L4 and relevant internship experience for L3.
- Experience with general-purpose programming languages, especially C++.
- Experience leading projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams is expected for the applicable level and preferred for L4/L3.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Familiarity with distributed processing frameworks such as Hadoop, Flume, and Spark and stream-processing frameworks such as Flink, Flume Streaming, and Kafka is preferred.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and reliability engineering practices, including SLOs and error budgets, is preferred.
