Responsibilities

  • Build, deploy, maintain, test, and troubleshoot production data processing pipelines and applications.
  • Design and deliver secure, stable, scalable data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions.
  • Develop high-quality production code and review and debug code written by other engineers.
  • Identify and automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
  • Lead architectural evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams.
  • Drive adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including coding, code review, testing, refactoring, and incident analysis support.
  • Establish standards for validating AI-assisted outputs and coach engineers on secure and compliant adoption.
  • Contribute to an inclusive and respectful team culture.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Experience with Big Data, data platforms, data engineering concepts, data pipeline development, system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Programming experience with Python, FastAPI, and Spark.
  • Technical competence with AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, AWS Step Functions, Amazon ECS, and Terraform for AWS infrastructure provisioning.
  • Ability to independently solve design and functionality problems with little to no oversight.
  • Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their correctness, performance, security, and compliance.
  • Understanding of responsible AI engineering practices, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security standards.
  • Training in generative AI solutions such as NLP and LLM models.
  • Preferred experience implementing generative AI solutions involving NLP, LLM models, RAG, prompt engineering, and AWS Bedrock.
  • Preferred experience with Snowflake.
