Base Salary
$179k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Develop robust cloud-based solutions in collaboration with digital product managers.
- Use programming languages, databases, container orchestration, and AWS services to deliver software solutions.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and establish standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Identify opportunities for refactoring, technical debt reduction, and performance improvement.
- Influence long-term technology strategy through evaluation of emerging tools and practices.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical community and professional development efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred experience includes 7+ years coding in more than two listed programming languages.
- Preferred experience includes database management, cloud platforms, open source frameworks, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, automated testing, Git-based version control, and cloud troubleshooting.
- Preferred experience includes observability, AI-based coding tools, interactive AI tooling, cross-functional engineering leadership, coding standards, design patterns, and mentoring engineers.

- Full-time annual salary varies by location: $179,400–$204,700 in Richmond, $197,300–$225,100 in Cambridge or McLean, and $215,200–$245,600 in New York.
