Base Salary
$231k - $323k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own software architecture and design for one or more system areas, conduct trade studies and prototypes, and represent designs in cross-team discussions.
- Collaborate with hardware, silicon, and systems engineering teams to lead integration campaigns, troubleshoot issues, and deliver solutions.
- Lead the design and implementation of multithreaded embedded software in C/C++ for Linux, RTOS, and bare-metal platforms on multicore SoCs.
- Define strategies for scaling, fault tolerance, and recovery.
- Define performance KPIs and develop methods to measure and optimize compute, memory, storage, network, and I/O resources.
- Contribute to technical documentation, code reviews, and system architecture decisions.
- Champion embedded software testing and troubleshooting practices, including automation and formal development practices.
- Lead delivery efforts and mentor senior software engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of deep experience developing embedded software in C/C++ for Linux, RTOS, or bare-metal platforms.
- Strong proficiency in C++ object-oriented design and implementation.
- Hands-on experience debugging embedded systems with software and hardware tools such as JTAG, SWD, CoreSight, Lauterbach/Trace32, J-Link, and J-Trace.
- Experience with Linux networking, inter-core and interprocessor communications, high-speed data-plane interfaces, DMA/RDMA, and RoCE.
- Experience leading software development teams and mentoring senior engineers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in a relevant engineering or computer science field.
- Preferred: 10+ years of embedded software development for mission-critical systems.
- Preferred: experience with satellite communications, space-based networks, cellular wireless, or terrestrial telecommunications.
- Preferred: experience with software-defined radios, RF transceivers, antenna control, optical transceivers, proprietary or merchant silicon drivers, formal verification, or radiation-hardened computing environments.
