Software Engineer III – Data Platform and Analytics
Guidewire SoftwareResponsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate secure, scalable, cloud-native data platform and analytics services.
- Build and maintain large-scale real-time stream processing and data ingestion systems.
- Design and implement Java and Spring Boot backend services using microservices and domain-driven design patterns.
- Develop performant data and analytics user experiences with React.js or Angular, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Own CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using containers and Kubernetes.
- Improve service availability, performance, observability, reliability, and data security while resolving production issues.
- Address application security findings and collaborate with security and platform teams on governance and compliance.
- Take ownership of data platform or analytics services during the first six months and deliver improvements to real-time processing, scalability, reliability, and user experience.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of relevant software engineering experience building production-grade services or applications.
- Backend development experience with Java, preferably Spring Boot, plus familiarity with microservices and multithreading.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, performance optimization, distributed systems, and data-intensive applications.
- Strong JavaScript skills and experience with React.js or Angular, HTML, and CSS.
- Working knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL and data warehousing technologies such as Amazon Redshift.
- Familiarity with service discovery, API gateways, domain-driven design, and other microservices architecture patterns.
- Ability to apply AI and data-driven insights to improve innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Preferred experience with AWS, IAM, networking, managed databases, streaming services, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Apache Kafka, Kinesis, ELK, TeamCity, distributed systems principles, and AWS RDS.
- Ability to collaborate across functions and locations with clear, respectful communication and willingness to learn new tools and domains.
