Senior Staff Software Engineer - iOS

- Drive strategic architecture investments across the WBD Sports platform.
- Map business and product needs to engineering initiatives and drive projects from conception through completion with minimal oversight.
- Influence sports platform strategy and contribute to tactical execution and long-term technical vision.
- Build and maintain highly available, low-latency systems serving sports content in production.
- Design modular iOS components, robust APIs, and data transport layers.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage, resiliency, disaster recovery, monitoring, alerting, documentation, and operational excellence.
- Document, present, advocate for, and champion technical solutions to technical and business audiences.
- Collaborate with product and project managers, users, developers, and senior leadership.
- Coach and mentor engineers up to the Senior Software Engineer level and provide leadership input on development needs.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and own work throughout the sprint process.
Requirements
- 13+ years of demonstrated experience building scalable iOS applications.
- Deep experience with Swift and SwiftUI.
- Strong knowledge of software design patterns and architecture, including VIP Architecture, Dependency Injection, and SOLID Principles.
- Strong GraphQL knowledge, including schema design, fragment management, and client/server integration.
- Advanced proficiency in TDD and unit/integration testing strategies.
- Experience with networking, asynchronous programming, and Swift Package Manager.
- Experience translating complex design features into modular components using design software such as Figma.
- Experience architecting and maintaining large-scale modular codebases across multiple teams.
- Ability to design robust APIs and data transport layers and optimize performance for high-traffic applications.
- Ability to independently define and deliver complex initiatives with little to no oversight.
- Effective technical documentation, communication, stakeholder interaction, and persuasion skills.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, cross-team collaboration, and mentoring experience up to Staff level.
- Fluency in English.
- Bonus experience with Apollo GraphQL or similar frameworks, design tokens, or sports, media, and entertainment platforms.
