Base Salary

$197k - $295k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end architecture for critical Snapdragon Mobile system features from concept through commercialization.
  • Define system-level architecture across CPU, NPU, DSP, memory, virtualization, security, kernel, and Android framework layers.
  • Develop AI-enabled mobile feature architectures and recommend system, software, and hardware enhancements.
  • Drive cross-SoC and cross-product scalability, performance, power optimization, and architectural clarity.
  • Conduct requirements analysis, hands-on prototyping, design reviews, architecture reviews, and technical research.
  • Set technical direction, unblock complex cross-team issues, mentor senior architects, and grow system hardware/software expertise.
  • Coordinate requirements, feature definition, prioritization, implementation plans, milestones, quality, and commercialization commitments.
  • Engage with OEMs, Google Android teams, external partners, product management, and internal hardware and software organizations.
  • Represent Qualcomm’s mobile system architecture strategy in technical, executive, OEM, and partner discussions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 8+ years of software engineering or related experience; or a master’s degree plus 7+ years; or a PhD plus 6+ years.
  • At least 4 years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
  • Extensive system-level software architecture experience for mobile, embedded, or large-scale platform software.
  • Deep expertise in Android OS, the Linux kernel, and system software stacks.
  • Proven experience leading complex cross-IP and cross-organization system features and working with OEMs or external partners.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as pKVM, hypervisors, or secure VMs.
  • Experience with AI/ML system software, NPU/DSP integration, runtime or model management, mobile SoC architecture, and hardware/software co-design.
  • Experience architecting, designing, and implementing software frameworks for heterogeneous or multiprocessor systems.
  • Experience with AI performance optimization, profiling, algorithm development, workload modeling, and performance and power estimation.
  • Knowledge of AI domains including computer vision, audio, or generative AI, and familiarity with AI hardware acceleration.
  • Strong technical communication, executive-level presentation, leadership, analytical, debugging, and strategic problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with high-performance computing system engineering or software and AI system optimization is preferred, including 10+ years of HPC experience and 5+ years of AI system optimization.
  • A master’s or PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
