Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications served through Oracle mod_plsql.
- Write and optimize complex PL/SQL packages and SQL queries against large datasets.
- Build interactive AJAX-driven front-end interfaces backed by PL/SQL procedures.
- Troubleshoot performance across database, gateway, and browser layers.
- Participate in code reviews, deployments, and production support.
- Configure and maintain mod_plsql Database Access Descriptors under Oracle HTTP Server/Apache.
- Develop stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, reusable PL/SQL APIs, and business logic layers.
- Implement session and state management, parameter passing, file transfers, and data-integrity locking strategies.
- Perform SQL query optimization using execution plans, hints, indexing, and partitioning.
Requirements
- BS/BA in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or an equivalent qualification; nine years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
- At least five years of experience in the field.
- At least four years of hands-on Oracle development, including significant experience with mod_plsql web applications.
- Extensive experience with Oracle mod_plsql, the PL/SQL Web Toolkit, OWA packages, Database Access Descriptors, and Oracle HTTP Server.
- Expert-level PL/SQL development using stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, cursors, bulk operations, collections, dynamic SQL, exception handling, autonomous transactions, and performance tuning.
- Advanced SQL skills including complex joins, analytic/window functions, subqueries, set operations, data modeling, normalization, and Oracle database DDL/DML.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, DOM manipulation, asynchronous endpoints, JSON or XML payloads, and cross-browser debugging.
- Familiarity with Oracle HTTP Server/WebLogic configuration is preferred.
- Experience with TOAD, SQL Developer, SQL Plus, or VSS is preferred.
