Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain high-performance Java/Spring Boot applications for trading-data ingestion, processing, and delivery.
- Build and optimize low-latency applications for high-volume real-time transaction processing.
- Integrate FIX protocol feeds and other real-time market-data sources.
- Diagnose and resolve CPU, I/O, memory, and other performance contentions.
- Apply generative AI tools to code generation, code review, test creation, debugging, and documentation.
- Gather requirements through interviews with trading-desk personnel and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with QA, production, and adjacent teams to test, release, and resolve system issues.
- Provide second-line production support and improve slow processes in existing codebases.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 7 years of hands-on Java/Spring Boot development experience, including core Java APIs, design patterns, concurrency, and memory management.
- At least 5 years of experience with real-time transaction processing and multithreading in high-performance capital markets environments.
- Experience with test-driven development and comprehensive unit and integration testing.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve high-performance application issues involving CPU, I/O, memory, and other resource contention.
- Proficiency with relational databases, complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and query optimization.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern DevOps practices.
- Proven experience using AI tools for code generation, debugging, test automation, and documentation.
- Familiarity with FIX protocol and FIX engines is preferred.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and publish/subscribe messaging systems such as Solace or Kafka is preferred.
- Knowledge of C# and the .NET ecosystem is preferred.
