Base Salary
$150k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development, testing, and deployment of high-quality code across the data platform.
- Collaborate actively with global teams across multiple time zones.
- Support platform capabilities for data cataloging, analytics, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement improvements with guidance from senior engineers.
- Build and support services that handle structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
- Participate in on-call rotation for production support and troubleshoot critical issues.
- Contribute to platform documentation and maintain clarity for internal consumers.
- Present work in team demos and represent engineering contributions in internal discussions.
- Follow best practices in testing, monitoring, and deployment to ensure platform reliability.
- Continuously learn and apply new tools, patterns, and technologies in the data platform space.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience developing scalable, distributed systems.
- Proficient in at least one language: Scala, Java, or Python.
- Experience building or maintaining cloud-based applications/services (AWS preferred, GCP is a plus).
- Exposure to event streaming platforms such as Kafka, Kinesis, or SQS.
- Familiarity with distributed data processing frameworks like Apache Spark or Apache Flink.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability best practices.
- Comfortable working in a globally distributed team.
- Willingness to participate in production on-call rotations.
