Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, low-latency backend services for ingesting, transforming, normalizing, and serving client data.
- Build and operate custom data and risk feeds supporting personalized risk views, KnowRisk modeling, and Strategy Builder hedge recommendations.
- Process user data and usage signals for AI risk models and expose data through APIs and streams.
- Architect high-throughput event-driven pipelines using Kafka and ActiveMQ.
- Own data quality, lineage, entitlement, permissioning, encryption, auditability, and security for sensitive client data.
- Collaborate with Data & Analytics and Intelligence Weaving teams across Nexus domains.
- Participate in code reviews, design sessions, agile ceremonies, documentation, and system diagram creation.
- Mentor engineers and make architecture and product-level design decisions.
- Evaluate technologies and AI tooling that could improve the risk-data platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional backend development experience with C# and .NET, including .NET Core.
- Experience building and operating high-throughput data-processing pipelines involving ingestion, transformation, and normalization.
- Hands-on experience with event-driven messaging systems such as Kafka or ActiveMQ and asynchronous processing.
- Strong Microsoft SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL skills, including schema design and optimized queries, plus NoSQL experience.
- Experience designing scalable, performant, secure, and highly available RESTful and/or gRPC APIs.
- Hands-on Kubernetes and Docker experience and cloud-services experience, preferably Azure.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, multithreading, performance, authentication, authorization, permissioning, caching, logging, and security.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and responsible-data-handling skills; fluent written and spoken English.
- Preferred experience includes risk management, hedging, commodities, financial markets, AI/ML model integration, feature or usage pipelines, time-series data, data warehouses, ETL, data lineage, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, AI-assisted development tools, and technical mentorship.
