Base Salary
$140k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, enhance, and optimize high-throughput Java backend services and data-processing systems.
- Transform fragmented data into accurate contact entities and design scalable entity-resolution, attribute-selection, and contact-publication solutions.
- Improve employment accuracy, stale-job detection, contact association, data grouping, and deduplication.
- Develop scalable data-quality rules, testing frameworks, and approaches that reduce reliance on manual review.
- Work with systems supporting approximately 400 million contact profiles.
- Collaborate with data scientists and Data Tools, Match, Company, and other data engineering teams.
- Contribute to technical strategy, architecture, code quality, performance, and scalability across the Person Data platform.
- Participate in sprint planning and independently select work based on expertise and development interests.
Requirements
- Significant professional software engineering experience with strong backend development experience.
- Deep expertise in Java and strong software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience designing, building, and scaling high-throughput or distributed systems.
- Experience with large-scale data-processing pipelines and big data systems.
- Experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies.
- Ability to write efficient, reliable, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Experience improving existing production systems, including complex or legacy codebases.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: experience with GCP, GCS, BigQuery, Solr, Elasticsearch, entity resolution, match-merge systems, record linkage, data deduplication, contact-related data, fragmented datasets, and integrating data science or machine learning initiatives into production workflows.
