Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure Kubernetes infrastructure for data-platform workloads across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Build and improve GitLab CI/CD pipelines and GitOps-based delivery patterns across multiple classification levels.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Collaborate with software engineers on service architectures, runtime behavior, deployability, reliability, and observability, including code-level changes.
  • Support and optimize Kafka, Kafka Streams, Flink, and Pinot data-streaming and processing pipelines.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting using the platform observability stack.
  • Apply DevSecOps practices including container hardening, vulnerability scanning, software supply-chain security, and compliance-driven deployments.
  • Manage Helm charts, Istio service mesh configurations, Kubernetes networking, and multi-cluster environments.
  • Operate platforms across AWS, Azure, on-premises data centers, and edge or tactical environments.
  • Write automation and platform tooling in Java or Go.
  • Engage directly with customers at operationally demanding Department of War locations.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant hands-on DevOps or platform engineering experience.
  • At least 5 years of production experience provisioning, operating, and troubleshooting Docker and Kubernetes clusters.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD, GitLab CI, and GitOps workflows including Flux and ArgoCD.
  • Experience operating data-intensive platforms using Kafka or Flink, including configuration and tuning.
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT design, data storage patterns, data governance, and downstream integrations.
  • Proficiency with Terraform and experience with Ansible or similar configuration-management tools.
  • Strong Helm experience, including authoring and maintaining charts for complex multi-service deployments.
  • Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentbit, Loki, Elasticsearch, or Kibana.
  • Software development experience in Java and/or Go, including modifying and contributing to application codebases.
  • Experience with AWS and/or Azure infrastructure, including networking, IAM, storage, and managed Kubernetes services.
  • Experience with secure and compliant deployments in regulated or government environments.
  • Active Secret clearance required, with eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Ability to obtain Security+ certification within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Preferred qualifications include Istio service mesh experience, Kubernetes-based ML/AI platform experience with Kubeflow, KServe, or Ray, GPU workload support, software supply-chain security, classified or air-gapped deployments, polyglot package management, RMF/STIGs/IL4-IL6 familiarity, internal developer-platform ownership, distributed tracing/APM experience, and existing TS/SCI clearance.
