Full-Stack Developer (Mental Health Care)

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using Python and React.
- Build cloud-native applications supporting patient registration, scheduling, provider workflows, clinical operations, and healthcare administration.
- Develop APIs and event-driven services supporting healthcare business processes.
- Design user interfaces that improve workflows for clinical and operational staff.
- Implement integrations with Athenahealth, Salesforce, and other healthcare and enterprise platforms.
- Migrate business capabilities from Athenahealth to custom applications while maintaining business continuity.
- Collaborate with product, business analysis, architecture, UX, and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop secure applications aligned with HIPAA requirements and modern healthcare security practices.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, technical design sessions, and sprint planning.
- Write maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
- Identify opportunities for AI-assisted workflows and intelligent automation across the platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including full-stack application development.
- Practical Python experience with FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar frameworks.
- Hands-on frontend development experience with TypeScript or JavaScript and React.
- Experience developing APIs and distributed, event-driven applications on AWS.
- Experience with message queues and streaming platforms such as SNS/SQS, EventBridge, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB, or Cosmos DB.
- Experience with Git, Docker, and CI/CD practices.
- Understanding of scalable software architecture and modern software design principles.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, analytical, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain daily overlap with the US team until at least 1:00 PM Pacific Time.
- Preferred experience includes healthcare software, EMR/EHR platforms, HIPAA, patient scheduling, clinical workflows, RCM, FHIR, HL7, event sourcing, CQRS, Terraform, Snowflake, serverless architecture, AI-enabled applications, AI-assisted development tools, or AWS certification.
