Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver backend projects across the stack using Python and Node.js/Go services hosted on Kubernetes.
- Build Generative AI workflows and deployments.
- Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines supporting AI/ML workflows and model deployments.
- Design and consume REST, GraphQL, or gRPC APIs with attention to performance, scale, and resiliency.
- Contribute to architecture and design decisions for AI/ML-enabled features.
- Mentor engineers and lead complex cross-functional projects.
- Communicate technical solutions and progress to leadership and align work with business objectives.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of backend software engineering experience delivering scalable, high-performance systems in enterprise environments.
- Python experience is required; familiarity with TypeScript and/or Java is expected.
- Strong experience with microservices architecture on Kubernetes.
- Strong database design and performance-tuning experience across SQL databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL, and NoSQL databases including MongoDB.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or demonstrated equivalent applied ML experience.
- Familiarity with ML/AI concepts and workflows, including MLOps and model deployment and monitoring.
- Deep understanding of backend security practices, including API security, sensitive data handling, authentication, authorization, OAuth, and JWT.
- Cloud infrastructure and operations experience with AWS is desirable.
- Experience with Kafka, Spark, LLM or agentic AI development pipelines, cybersecurity, IoT, or NLP is desirable.
- Ability to work independently, break down large initiatives, and operate in an Agile environment.
