Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test firmware for optical line system products such as ROADM, EDFA, and Raman systems.
- Develop and maintain firmware requirements and design documentation.
- Collaborate with optical, hardware, FPGA, software, manufacturing, and test teams on product integration.
- Provide knowledge transfer for manufacturing processes and resolve customer issues.
- Contribute to testing documentation, design reviews, architectural decisions, and firmware process improvements.
Requirements
- BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Computer Science, Electronics and Communications Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of embedded software development experience in multithreaded real-time environments.
- Strong C/C++ programming, embedded systems, debugging, and system-understanding skills.
- Experience with firmware requirements, design reviews, test-plan reviews, device drivers, hardware bring-up, and microcontroller-based systems.
- Experience with Linux or real-time operating systems and interfaces including I²C, SPI, Ethernet, and PCIe.
- Hands-on experience with traffic generators, JTAG debuggers, and the U-Boot bootloader.
- Familiarity with RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS and ThreadX.
- Basic understanding of electronics schematics and hardware design.
- Nice-to-have experience includes scripting languages, Zynq and ARM processors, optical engineering concepts, and AI tools such as Cursor, Gemini, and Copilot.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration, learning, and self-starting abilities.
