
Senior Software Engineer, (SRE)
Anduril IndustriesResponsibilities
- Lead the design, development, implementation, and support of secure software delivery toolchains across multiple national security classification domains
- Manage infrastructure-layer systems and providers such as AWS, Azure, and VMWare ESXi
- Manage operating systems including NixOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat, and Microsoft Windows
- Manage orchestration technologies including OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform
- Manage application-layer systems including GitHub Enterprise, CircleCI, and proprietary applications
- Contribute to Nix-managed build and deployment systems
- Contribute to ICT hardware management in a limited capacity
- Implement software toolchain security best practices
- Work within a multidisciplinary software team and mentor Software Engineers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a relevant field, or equivalent experience
- Senior-level experience delivering software or hardware systems with mature software delivery, security, and operations capabilities
- Experience designing, implementing, and operating horizontally scaled cloud technologies
- Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems
- Ability to work across the software stack and full lifecycle from design through sustainment
- Ability to act as technical owner for a software service, including stakeholder engagement, requirements, roadmap management, coordination, design, implementation, and sustainment
- Ability to mentor junior team members and build team cohesion
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance
- Preferred experience writing cloud-native services using C++, Rust, Python, and/or Go
- Preferred experience with NixOS and the Nix programming language
- Systems or application programming skills involving algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and optimization
- Preferred experience managing infrastructure with Terraform
- Strong networking knowledge, particularly in cloud and hybrid environments
- Strong knowledge of deploying applications with Kubernetes and maintaining Kubernetes clusters
