Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test high-reliability safety software in C/C++ for an Intel-based safety controller.
- Maintain certified Safety PLC applications, including parameter updates, change management, and variant support.
- Apply functional safety processes and coding standards across the software development lifecycle.
- Create and maintain software safety requirements, system architecture, verification evidence, and certification documentation.
- Act as the primary technical contact for TÜV and other external notified bodies during safety assessments.
- Coordinate freelancers, contractors, and development partners working on the safety software stack.
Requirements
- Completed vocational training or a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field.
- Several years of experience in embedded software development using C and C++.
- Experience with functional safety standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, and ISO 13849-1.
- Working knowledge of MISRA C/C++ guidelines and static analysis tools.
- Strong ownership, a pragmatic working style, and a structured, documentation-driven approach to engineering.
- Very good English skills; German is a plus.
- Experience with Safety PLC programming or safety RTOS/hypervisors is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with TÜV certification or other notified body audits is a plus.
