Base Salary
$122k - $189k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable and reliable microservices and distributed applications.
- Design data solutions, database solutions, and interactions between multiple application modules to meet business needs.
- Build and maintain near-real-time distributed data processing solutions using Kafka.
- Conduct code reviews and promote software engineering principles and best practices.
- Build testing tools and CI/CD pipelines to improve engineering automation and delivery.
- Identify and resolve data performance issues and optimize solutions.
- Provide production and on-call support, resolve incidents, and maintain operational excellence.
- Work on cost savings, production alerts, and logging dashboards.
- Communicate effectively with Nordstrom teams and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience with a modern programming language such as Java.
- At least 3 years of experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and automated engineering solutions.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, and New Relic.
- Experience integrating AI tools into the engineering lifecycle, including planning, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Experience with cloud environments such as AWS or GCP.
- Experience with scalable distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, and event-driven streaming architecture.
- Experience with operational excellence best practices.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working in a retail environment or supporting merchandising systems is preferred.
