Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy internal and customer-facing software applications.
- Build and operate production-grade Big Data pipelines and services.
- Investigate software and system defects and perform root cause analysis.
- Monitor running production processes and ensure software reliability.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Architecture to plan the engineering backlog and resolve impediments.
- Demo products to stakeholders and help customers use them effectively.
- Participate in a 24/7/365 product support rotation.
- Use automated testing and continuous integration and deployment practices.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional software development and deployment experience.
- At least 6 years of strong backend programming experience in Java.
- Experience building Big Data pipelines with Flink and Kafka in AWS and Kubernetes environments.
- Strong experience building and using REST APIs, including SpringBoot and OpenAPI.
- Experience with SQL databases such as Aurora and Postgres and columnar storage such as RedShift.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment, Git, and Gitlab.
- Experience operating production services in cloud environments, especially AWS services including EMR, Kinesis, RedShift, and RDS.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Experience with automated testing, Agile methods, DevOps, and related tools.
- Experience working across the full production software lifecycle and in large organizations with compliance requirements.
