Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance Android platforms for automotive infotainment and digital cockpit systems.
- Lead technical teams and drive architecture concepts and decisions.
- Develop custom Android HALs, Android OS extensions, middleware solutions, and platform components.
- Manage Android version migrations, device configurations, service binding, IPC communication, and multithreaded functionality.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle for information and entertainment applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform and software issues.
- Write unit test cases and support Google compliance testing including CTS and VTS.
- Collaborate with teams and use AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of professional experience is required, including substantial Android platform experience.
- 15 years of full-time education and a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field are stated requirements.
- In-depth AOSP/AAOS and Android Framework expertise, including customization, device configuration, custom HALs, services, broadcast receivers, content providers, SDK add-ons, and AIDL/HIDL.
- Expertise in C++ 11/14/17, Core Java, Android NDK, Linux, multithreaded programming, middleware, operating-system concepts, and Android version migrations.
- Experience with Git, Gerrit, GitHub, Android component development, service binding, IPC, thread handling, design patterns, and Java/Kotlin.
- Experience writing unit tests and performing Google compliance testing such as CTS and VTS.
- Automotive or other Android platform experience, including mobile phone platforms, is relevant.
- Experience with media and phone applications, navigation, home-screen customization, cloud communication, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, or CAN integration is good to have.
- Strong communication, collaboration, learning, and complex-system problem-solving skills are required.
