Responsibilities

  • Develop new solutions, application features, enhancements, and source-code fixes aligned with business and architecture requirements.
  • Design, code, test, debug, document, maintain, and support application and system components through testing and production deployment.
  • Conduct unit/component testing, peer code reviews, quality management reviews, operational readiness reviews, and solution design sign-offs.
  • Analyze technical requirements and recommend pragmatic engineering solutions addressing performance, integration, security, operability, and time-to-market goals.
  • Provide technical expertise during incident management, analyze outages and impacts, support communications, and help resolve incidents and prevent recurrence.
  • Identify automation, development, testing, process, and performance improvement opportunities and implement remediation plans.
  • Collaborate with technology partners, business stakeholders, and internal and external partners to maintain alignment with enterprise, regulatory, and risk requirements.
  • Mentor and support team members, share engineering best practices, facilitate knowledge transfer, and contribute to a positive and inclusive team environment.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree, or technical certificate is required.
  • A strong academic background in computer science, engineering, or a related area is preferred.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant engineering frameworks, technologies, tools, processes, procedures, and programming languages is expected.
  • Experience independently performing complex technical tasks, developing program specifications, coding, testing, debugging, and adapting or integrating programs is expected.
  • Knowledge of software engineering quality practices, incident management, risk and governance processes, and continuous improvement is preferred.

Benefits

  • The role is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with 37.5 working hours per week.
