Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable quality engineering solutions.
- Develop and maintain automated frameworks for front-end, back-end, API, integration, UI, database, and end-to-end testing.
- Conduct manual and automated testing for web applications, APIs, databases, and distributed software systems.
- Design test strategies, plans, cases, reports, and API validation workflows.
- Write and maintain automation framework code, testing utilities, and engineering tools.
- Lead quality initiatives involving testing, automation, observability, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Identify risks, performance issues, defects, and technical debt and drive preventive improvements.
- Perform root-cause analysis for complex production issues.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, architects, and engineering leaders on quality goals and technical priorities.
- Mentor engineers and QA professionals through technical guidance, code reviews, and automation best practices.
- Contribute to architecture discussions and long-term platform evolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, quality engineering, or test automation.
- Strong experience testing complex web applications across front-end and back-end systems.
- Strong understanding of software design, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Strong programming skills in Core Java and experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar languages.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining automation frameworks with Selenium, Playwright, or equivalent tools.
- Experience with Postman or similar API testing tools and service-integration validation.
- Strong SQL skills for backend validation and data verification.
- Experience with UI, API, database, and end-to-end test automation.
- Strong knowledge of the Software Testing Life Cycle, defect management, and quality processes.
- Experience with JIRA or similar test and issue management platforms.
- Knowledge of performance testing, reliability engineering, observability, and secure software development practices.
- Experience working in Agile development environments and leading cross-functional engineering initiatives.
- Ability to mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and drive quality improvements without direct authority.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
