Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction, architecture, development standards, and delivery of custom software solutions.
- Lead, manage, and mentor engineering teams while making decisions for the team and across multiple teams.
- Develop end-to-end software applications using Java, Maven, Spring Boot, and NoSQL databases.
- Design ICON/IPF extensions, orchestration, external-system integrations, APIs, and payment solutions.
- Build and optimize resilient, highly available, distributed, event-driven, reactive, and cloud-native systems.
- Implement CI/CD automation, Docker and Kubernetes deployment, autoscaling, resilience engineering, and automated testing.
- Evaluate and improve development processes, performance, scalability, code quality, and compliance.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience is required.
- At least 8 years of experience with ICON Payments Framework (IPF) is required.
- Advanced Java, Spring Boot, microservices, performance tuning, and hands-on software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in ICON IPF, including end-to-end orchestration, complex module extensions, and external-system integration.
- Experience with distributed systems, MongoDB, advanced messaging patterns, Kafka, Kafka Streams, and event-driven or event-sourced architectures.
- Experience with Akka reactive clustered actor systems, sharding, persistence, and resilience tuning.
- Experience with cloud-native deployment, AWS or Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Experience with functional, performance, security, and BDD testing, including Gherkin.
- Knowledge of payments fundamentals, including clearing and settlement systems, PSD2, FPS, CHAPS, SEPA, and preferably ISO 20022.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
- Preferred qualifications include Java SE/EE, Spring Boot, AWS or Azure, Kafka and Akka training or experience, and FPS or ISO 20022 compliance awareness.
