Responsibilities
- Ensure uptime, resiliency, and fault tolerance for HPC clusters supporting AI model training and inference.
- Design and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging systems for GPU, cluster, storage, and networking infrastructure.
- Build automation for deployments, incident response, scaling, and failover in CPU and GPU environments.
- Lead on-call rotations, troubleshoot production issues, conduct blameless postmortems, and drive reliability improvements.
- Maintain secure and compliant operations across model training and serving environments.
- Partner with ML engineers and platform teams to improve developer experience and research-to-production workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline and 4+ years of technical experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- A master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience, is preferred.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines for ML training or inference workloads.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP and infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience with Grafana, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry for monitoring and observability.
- Programming or scripting experience with Python, Go, or Bash.
- Experience with distributed systems, networking, storage, HPC, GPU clusters, workload schedulers, ML training or inference pipelines, capacity planning, and GPU infrastructure cost optimization.

- The role is based in the United Kingdom and offers a stated annual base-pay range; additional benefits and other compensation may apply.
- Employees living within 50 miles of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25 miles outside the U.S. are expected to work from that office at least four days per week, subject to local law and jurisdictional variation.
