Responsibilities
- Become a subject matter expert in trading, employee surveillance, privacy, and risk governance.
- Create system and application designs, software designs, and technical architectures aligned with technology strategies and objectives.
- Provide expertise on software design, system architecture, and solution-oriented technologies to Compliance Technology and IT teams.
- Communicate with clients, analyze business requirements and processes, and recommend and shape future Compliance Technology plans.
- Oversee project outcomes, including hardware and software design, and ensure project phases meet overall requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and ownership by translating vision into plans, evaluating technologies, making strategic recommendations, and overseeing cross-team initiatives.
- Mentor team members and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience with a proven record as a technical subject matter expert and individual contributor.
- Experience in software design, strong systems thinking, and confidence making technical decisions.
- In-depth experience with Python, Scala, Java/Spring, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows, prompt engineering for code generation, and critically evaluating AI-generated code for correctness and security.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, ownership, strategic planning, technology evaluation, cross-team initiative leadership, and mentoring experience.
- Experience in a matrix environment such as a large publicly traded corporation is preferred.
- Ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makers is preferred.
- Capital markets, wealth management, and/or regulatory experience is preferred.
